A primary goal of this class is to introduce the design and services provided by modern operating systems.

The topics are split into five different modules, with assignments, projects and exams for each module.

• Operating Systems Concepts, 7 ed. Abraham Silberschatz, Peter Baer Galvin and Greg Gagne.

Recommended text

• Linux Kernel Development Robert Love (2 ed). The first edition will also work.

Prerequisites

Background in programming is necessary.
